Reflections in Tea 2

Bonjour!

I’m so glad to see you have returned.

This is the second of our Le Blog posts.

I have named our blog “Reflections in Tea” because over tea is where I get some of my best inspirations.

It’s not just hot tea that gets my creative juices going. I enjoy iced tea as well. When I find the time, I pour myself a glass of iced and head out onto our patio to read or write. Favorite pastime: Feet up with a magazine or catalog on my lap and a glass of iced tea on the table beside me. How about you?

Did you know that almost all our teas taste deliciously refreshing over ice? Of course, our Passion Berry Iced Tea Blend is outstanding, but there are some others that I would highly recommend. One of my favorites is Betjeman & Barton’s peach tea. By itself, it tastes like a fresh peach. To enhance it’s already juicy-peach flavor, I like to put frozen peach slices in my glass and pour the hot tea over it. You may have to add a few ice cubes, but I guarantee, it’s heavenly iced. If you like your iced tea sweet, add simple or flavored syrup to the hot tea, stir, and then add ice. You can do this with green tea and herbal as well. A good rule to follow when brewing loose leaf tea to ice, is a level tablespoon of tea for each quart. It’s best when using a tea brewer or coffee maker.

Betjeman & Barton’s Peach Tea, Iced

Cut up fresh peaches or use frozen peach slices. Divine!

Browse our tea selections and choose one you think you’d enjoy iced.

Some suggestions to try:

Our Summer In Paris is simply sublime, iced.

Paris In A Cup’s Summer In Paris, add Vanilla Syrup (Optional)

The’ des Sables (Green)

This is so good iced, maybe add a little honey for a touch of sweetness. Check out our recipe for Iced Tea Peach Bellini below

Now, grab your phone, tablet or laptop and head outside. Find a chair in the shade, and finish reading “Le Blog”.

Are you sitting in a comfy spot? Good. Because I want to talk about “A Weekend in Paris”. Of course, I’m not talking about actually going to Paris, but I have some ideas for the next best thing. Our newest tea offering, the Weekend in Paris Gift box.  I was so excited when I found this. Not only does it have a Parisian theme, but the company really impressed me. A socially responsible, family-owned company with its own direct-from- plantation connections in India. They have been in business over 80 years but still refer to themselves as “Home-grown”. They have offices here in California as well as the UK. They put the tea farmers first and they donate 1% of their revenue toward the education of the tea grower’s children in India as a part of its TEAch Me program. So, enjoy your Weekend in Paris (purchase) and feel good about it. It makes a great gift for the tea connoisseur in your life.

To complete your “Weekend Trip” may I suggest a couple of blogs I follow? Both of these folks live in Paris and write about everyday life there as well as tours, shopping and dining. You’ll feel like you visited. Take a look, but not before you’re finished here!

Another offering from Vahdam teas, is their Private Reserve Blooming Rose Black Tea in a pretty presentation box. This tea is blended in house. Pair this with their Imperial Tea Brewer or their Square Tea infuser and you have a treasured gift for a special someone.

If you are looking for an easy, mess-proof way to brew your loose-leaf tea try the Imperial Tea Maker from Vahdam. This clever invention really works! I tried it in my kitchen. It even works for iced tea.

It’s magical!

Brew your tea, hot or cold, with no fuss, right into your cup or mug. Fill a glass with ice and set this little gem on top. Voila! Iced tea for one.

Imperial Tea Brewer. Brew hot into your cup or brew over ice.

Now it’s time to have a little fun with tea. Here’s a yummy Green Tea Peach Bellini recipe you may enjoy while watching the sunset tonight.

Green Tea Peach Bellini

Recipe below

 Green Tea Peach Bellini

1 slice ripe peach, peeled and mashed

1 oz gin

2 oz prosecco

2 oz of brewed green tea (we like our The’ des Sables)

2 oz of lemonade

Add ice and shake well. Pour into glass with a sugared rim (Optional)

Use the rest of the peach as garnish

Makes one glass. Double the recipe and invite a friend over.

Enjoy!
