December Gifts
Bonjour!
Welcome back.
During this busy season, we are shopping, decorating, baking, and entertaining. It seems like we seldom have time to treat ourselves. We want you feel “treated” so in December we’re offering you a series of little gifts.
Each week our blog will feature a little surprise, for you, our readers. It may be a discount code or gift with purchase. We want to make sure you are taking care of you during this busy time.
This week, purchase a tin or refill pouch of our Winter Royal Blend Tea and choose a little gift.
Our Winter Royal Blend is a limited-edition blend that is only available during the Holidays, and then it goes away.
Our Winter Royal Blend, also known as our Royal Christmas Tea, is a black tea with vanilla, red berries, flower petals, cinnamon, clove, and orange peels. 4 oz. loose tea in a refillable tin or a refill pouch. Send a tin to the tea enthusiast on your list and get one for yourself. Then choose your gift. After all, you deserve it. Just tell us which gift you prefer in the comments section at check-out. This offer expires at midnight December 8th.
There’s more surprises . . . read on please.
There is a little-known gem on our website. It doesn’t get a lot of attention until I tell people how it works. It is my absolute favorite way to brew tea and I use mine daily. Yes, every day! No kidding.
Imperial Tea Maker
Just drop 2-3 teaspoons (depending on how you like it) of your favorite loose tea in the brewer, add hot water. Let it stand for your preferred brew time (See the handy chart below). Set the brewer on a cup or mug and it magically dispenses the tea. When you lift it off the cup, voila! It stops.
Now are you ready for this tip? I brew iced tea in this! I just set the brewer on a glass full of ice. It works perfectly. I use 3 teaspoons of our Passion-Berry Iced Tea blend, but you can use any loose tea.
Check out my video!
It’s on sale!
This week only we are offering the Imperial Tea Maker at $10.00 off. This offer expires midnight December 8th. Please use code DEC01 at check-out.
Don’t forget to compost your used tea. It’s great in the garden.
Is Tea Good for Plants? Yes, it is!
Tea leaves contain tannic acid, nitrogen and other valuable nutrients that are released into the soil as they decompose. Tea leaves also can be an excellent mulch and can increase soil acidity for acid-loving plants. Watering your plants with leftover tea can not only hydrate them, but also increase nutrient levels in the soil.
The following plants love tea:
Azaleas
African Violets
Camellias
Daffodils
Heathers
Hydrangeas – Blue
Rhododendrons
Shrubs
Maidenhair Ferns
Some Berries
Most Veggies
Many Herbs
If you’re not sure if your plant will love tea, please consult a garden specialist at your local nursery or plant store.
Using tea around your plant roots is an easy way to control pests while you limit pesticide use. Tea leaves sprinkled around your plant can also help deter any pesky pests that could potentially destroy your plants. Mice, cats, rabbits, and different bugs hate the smell of tea. You can spray brewed tea on your plant, place it in the soil, or on top of the soil.
Wondering what to do with that left over turkey?

1/2 cup finely chopped celery*
1/3 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup chopped toasted walnuts
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
In a large 1. mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, parsley, and dill.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving
